Futur I
Practise the Futur IWhen
What happens in the future, especially for a prediction or a promise, or when nothing else in the sentence shows it is about later. Es wird regnen. (It will rain.) Also for a guess: Er wird wohl krank sein. (He is probably ill.)
How to form it
werden in the Präsens + infinitive: ich werde, du wirst, er wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie werden + machen.
Pitfalls
- The helper verb is werden, not wollen. Ich will gehen means "I want to go", not "I will go".
- When the sentence already says when, German usually just uses the Präsens: Morgen gehe ich ins Kino. (I am going to the cinema tomorrow.)
- Watch du wirst and er wird: the vowel changes here.
